Well I hope Im doing this right Im new to wiki's and am trying to understand it all. Im hoping that this is the right place to give my observation.

I think there is a confusing syntax regarding signing your name in a discussion. I admit that one is talking about a talk and the other a discussion. But are they not the same thing?? I dont know. Anyway here are my links.

On the page http://wiki.contribs.org/Wiki_Quick_Start and on the subject; "How to work with this wiki" It says "Oh, and make sure to sign things you post on talk pages with --Steve288 05:36, 26 December 2011 (MST), so everyone can follow the conversations." Notice the dashes with tilda's.

However if you look at http://wiki.contribs.org/Help:Editing_pages and the sentence; "You can sign your message by writing 4 tildes (Steve288 05:36, 26 December 2011 (MST))." Which clearly says use 4 tildes.

I suppose one puts -- in front of the name however the other does not. It just goes into a braket. It is a very small thing but I suppose I like consistency.

Any thoughts? Steve288 05:36, 26 December 2011 (MST)
