Just curious, why would I want this?

I used the logs generated by this plugin to help monitor and diagnose my SME server's performance.

At the time, I had several users complaining about receiving multiple copies of some messages; this plugin helped me confirm that the multiple copies occurred whenever the total qpsmtpd connection time exceeded some amount, which helped me track down the cause of the problem. My vague memory is that the ultimate problem was on my "internal" mail server - the SME (acting as a spam and virus filter) would receive the message, then take so long to forward it to the "internal" server that the sending SMTP server would time out and disconnect, then start over again a few minutes later.

So, at the time I found this quite useful, but (as predicted) it stopped working the next time a qpsmtpd update was released, and I never re-enabled it. Mmccarn 16:08, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
